The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes ensuring that the project is completed within its projected budget and that the necessary quality and performance standards are met. The role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, as well as the ability to negotiate and liaise with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Management:
* Prepare detailed budget estimates and cost plans.
* Monitor current projects to ensure financial efficiency and prevent cost overruns.
* Analyze project costs and suggest cost-saving measures.
2. Tendering & Contract Administration:
* Participate in the preparation and analysis of tenders.
* Assist in negotiating contracts with contractors and suppliers.
* Manage contract compliance and address any contract variations.
3. Project Evaluation & Reporting:
* Evaluate completed work and recommend progress payments.
* Maintain an up-to-date record of project costs and prepare regular reports for management.
* Conduct risk analysis and advise on potential financial impacts.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
* Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Facilitate communication between clients and other project parties.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance:
* Ensure all financial aspects of a project comply with legal and contractual standards.
* Conduct quality checks and audits to ensure work meets agreed specifications.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and costs.
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Proficient in using relevant software applications (e.g., Excel, CAD, project management software).
* Basic Salary & Incentives given with job.
* Minimum Experience 5 Years in Bahrain
