Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented F&B Accountant to manage daily financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and support cost control initiatives across our outlets. The F&B Accountant will work closely with operations, purchasing, and store teams to maintain financial accuracy, control costs, and provide timely insights that support the restaurant’s profitability.


Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting


-Record, reconcile, and maintain daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, and payments.

-Prepare accurate trial balance, profit & loss accounts, and monthly management reports.

-Monitor petty cash usage, staff expense claims, and reimbursements.

-Manage accounts payable and receivable: ensure timely supplier payments and customer collections.

-Validate vendor invoices, purchase orders, and contracts for accuracy before posting.

-Reconcile bank accounts, supplier ledgers, POS system reports, and intercompany accounts.

-Support VAT/tax filings by maintaining accurate documentation and liaising with auditors.


2. Cost Control & Inventory Management


-Track recipe costing, menu pricing, and food cost percentages per outlet.

-Monitor sales reports, voids, discounts, and complimentary items to identify revenue gaps.

-Reconcile kitchen wastage, staff meals, and spoilage reports.

-Conduct portion/yield analysis to ensure adherence to standardized recipes.

-Verify GRN (Goods Received Notes) against supplier invoices and purchase orders.

-Assist with monthly and surprise stock counts; reconcile with accounting system balances.

-Monitor purchasing practices to ensure FIFO, par levels, and expiry controls are followed.


3. Budgeting & Forecasting


-Support the preparation of budgets by providing historical cost and sales data.

-Track budget vs. actual performance and flag variances for corrective action.

-Assist in sales and cost forecasting based on seasonal trends and promotions.

-Conduct profitability checks on new menu items, promotions, and catering orders.


4. Internal Controls & Compliance


-Enforce SOPs for financial documentation, approvals, and cash handling.

-Regularly reconcile outlet cash collections with POS reports and deposits.

-Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules and reports.

-Maintain compliance with tax, licensing, and regulatory requirements.


5. Collaboration & Support


-Work with chefs and operations on cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

-Liaise with purchasing and store teams for price monitoring and supplier negotiations.

-Provide timely financial insights to management to support operational decisions.

-Support payroll processing by reconciling overtime, staff meals, and allowances.


Qualifications & Experience


-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

-3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the F&B or hospitality industry.

-Strong knowledge of cost control, recipe costing, and inventory reconciliation.

-Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Oracle, or ERP systems).

-Solid MS Excel and financial analysis skills.

-Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

-Good communication and problem-solving skills.
